Symptoms

After updating QuickBooks 2004 editions you may receive the following error when recording a receiver, shipment or work order in QuickBooks.

Error -2147220480: QuickBooks found an error when parsing the provided XML text stream.

Cause

There is a special characters in the description of one of the items or components (e.g. ? symbol or foreign language symbols)

Resolution:

Edit the Item Description to remove the special character.

If this does not work, close QB and do the following:

go to C:\Program Files\NumberCruncher\All Orders 3 double click QBXMLRP2Installer.exe

follow the onscreen instructions. If you see a choice between Reinstall, Repair or Remove, select Repair
