Upgrading to version 3.0 from prior versions
All Orders 3.X
From Version 1.X
Before installing version 3.0, make sure the latest version you are running is 1.8.4. (Help --> About). If not, update your version and run NumberCruncher at least once after.
Uninstall version 1.X, including the service packs, from you computer using 'Add-Remove programs'. You may receive some errors during uninstall if certain files cannot be found. This is expected just continue to uninstall. For version 3.0 download the entire package installation package from our web site and install the program. (NOTE do not download a service pack only). After you have installed version 3.0, run the program and your file will automatically be converted. A copy will be created automatically with the -OLD suffix (e.g. My Company-OLD.NCB)
From Version 2.X
It is not necessary to uninstall version 2.X before installing version 3.X although you should only keep version 2.X on your machine if you have clients with multiple versions of NumberCruncher or your are testing version 3.X.
Uninstall version 2.X, including the service packs, from you computer using 'Add-Remove programs'. You may receive some errors during uninstall if certain files cannot be found. This is expected just continue to uninstall.
For version 3.0 download the entire package installation package from our web site and install the program. (NOTE do not download a service pack only). After you have installed version 3.0, run the program. You will be prompted to create a back-up of your file.
