"All Orders crucial to our success"
We build equipment for handling waste water. This is the second company I have worked for doing this kind of work. I implemented All Orders and QuickBooks at my previous employer to replace an outdated DOS accounting program. We also looked at MAS 90 and a couple of others like that but quickly realized that the cost of implementing them was going to be way more than we could afford. When I left we had more than 12,000 part numbers and 10 seats of All Orders. We were very pleased with the support from NumberCruncher, and I followed the new release closely as there always seemed to be something we could use. I implemented All Orders here because of that success at my previous employer. This time though we are a startup, so we haven’t needed to import legacy data and we have done a better job of organizing our data. In the few years in between All Orders has continued to improve and we are taking advantage of a number of those improvements. We build products by order, not for inventory, and we don’t intentionally inventory very much material. Inventoried material is generally the excess from larger packages, or spare parts. What is HUGE for us is that we generate the BOM for every job directly from a SolidWorks model. We then import That BOM into Sales Orders by sub-assembly and All Orders then generates the POs, typically 50 or 60 for each job. All Orders consolidates the items from multiple Sales Orders onto each PO. It then keeps track of the Sales Orders associated with each PO. Using a custom label generator created for us by NumberCruncher, bin labels for each Sales Order/BOM/Sub-assembly are printed. A simple custom report that NumberCruncher helped us create then produces a Receiver that details how much of each material that was received goes in each sub-assembly bin. We check it in, and direct it right to the shop floor in one step!
"All Orders by Numbercruncher solved our complex problem"
At DCM Computing Services I look to help my clients meet their business needs. When Berry Tin Shop approached me about needing a sales system for their manufacturing business, I went to Intuit to see about systems that integrated with Quickbooks. One of their recommendations: NumberCruncher. Berry Tin Shop had a unique need to track inventory of a product which they sold by the linear foot. At the sales counter, however, they sold custom length pieces. The complex Calculations that NumberCruncher customized for us allows the salesman to make purchase orders of specific custom products from a single inventory item. For example, one customer can order 15 panels of 29 gauge dark red tin cut at 8 feet 6 inches. The manufacturing floor will see the order and from the single roll of dark red 29 gauge tin, custom cut the pieces as needed. The inventory system and invoice system will see an order of [number of pieces * (feet + inches)] or in this case 15*8.5 linear feet (127.5) * the cost per linear foot. No more need to calculate the linear feet needed by hand and no more error. The invoice is also customizable to include these fields for the needed products. Now the customer, salesperson, back-office, and manufacturing floor can all be on the same page, literally.
"Best Solution for Inventory and Production"
By mendelsonconsulting.comAs a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, I find All Orders by NumberCruncher to be the most efficient software in handling inventory processing. It tremendously enhances the capabilities of QuickBooks in handling detailed inventory. And my clients agree in finding it favorable as it pertains to inventory management. It expands the capabilities of QuickBooks, making it a comprehensive inventory management system.
"Simply the Best… Robust, Reliable, Accurate and Easy to Implement and Use"
By RaynaWe are a small to medium sized company that designs and manufactures gas mixing and analyzing equipment for the industrial gas industry worldwide. We have an inventory of over 2,000 purchased and manufactured parts, a current bill of materials list of over 400, a very long customer list both international and domestic, and over 500 different vendors. My company brought me on board to analyze, learn, and train our personnel on the accounting and manufacturing program they had implemented nearly a year previously, having moved from an antiquated system. They had spent tens of thousands of dollars and countless hours trying to learn this program and to get it working properly. The upshot was, after several months, I was asked to find us some new software that would meet all our needs, was robust, reliable, accurate, and easy to implement and use. Needless to say, everyone was pretty gun shy on any new software since their previous experience had been so negative. I took 8 months to thoroughly research, test, and evaluate several different programs. Some were comprehensive, stand alone products, others were QuickBooks add-ons. Pretty early on, I nixed all of the stand alone products as being too over-the-top or too difficult or complicated to learn and use. I turned to QuickBooks as a program I had been familiar with for many years and started investigating the manufacturing add-ons. Among many other things, we needed a top-notch inventory control system with serial numbering that had flexibility, a very strong bill of materials capability as most of our bills have over 200 items and sub-assemblies, precise and easy to use sales orders and work orders, and flexible purchase orders. Interestingly, NumberCruncher’s All Orders was one of the first programs I evaluated. I really liked it, but needed to be extremely thorough in my search as I wanted to give my people the product that fit their needs perfectly. I tried many of the other add-ons, but always kept finding things that just didn’t fit our needs, and I found I kept coming back to All Orders. I eventually purchased a copy of QuickBooks and All Orders to be able to evaluate them in-depth over the course of a few months. During my evaluation, I found so many things I liked about All Orders that I eventually had to start looking for things I DIDN’T like, but I couldn’t find many. During this time, I made numerous phone calls and email inquiries to Ian and Lena (probably driving them crazy) but they were always very helpful and pleasant (and this was BEFORE we purchased the support plan). To make a long story a little shorter, we purchased enough licenses of QuickBooks and All Orders and have been up and running for over a month. I had devised a training schedule for those who would be using the programs, but we had to throw that out the window after everyone felt comfortable and happy with the program in less than half the time I had anticipated. We are all extremely pleased with All Orders. It is robust, reliable, accurate, and easy to implement and use. One thing to remember when choosing software, after you implement the program, you should never have to think about the program itself again. You shouldn’t have to worry whether it will work properly or perform to standard or crash or hang or corrupt your data. All Orders has accomplished that for us. Once it’s running, it’s there, and it works! All Orders and the support team at NumberCruncher have my complete confidence.
"Great for Unit of Measure Conversions"
By dana@adams-harper-pa.comI am a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor for a CPA firm that has referred two of our manufacturing clients to use this program. I have loaded & setup the software, which I found very easy to do. My clients had difficulties with unit of measure conversions for their inventory within QuickBooks. NumberCruncher more that met their needs. It is simple to create your Bill of materials (assemblies), as well as change them as needed without any difficulty. I would recommend this software to any manufacturing company looking for advanced inventory control and management.
By philg@superiorquilting.comWe are a manufacturer and distributor of home bedding products including mattress pads, duvets, comforters, sheets, pillow cases, etc. and just recently started using All Orders. A major concern for us was downloading the thousands of part numbers and descriptions but was pleasantly surprised by the simple and elegant import facility that made this task relatively easy. Since we have to deal with both in-house manufactured goods as well as purchased goods we found All orders to be an ideal solution to track both raw materials and finished goods. It is also very easy to handle changes to orders and back orders which historically has been a major challenge for us. The system has been easy for our staff to learn particularly for those who were already familiar with the look and feel of QuickBooks and we have also found the support, when we needed it, to be prompt and to the point. This is our first venture into utilizing a system to help manage inventory and production with the high cost of these systems being the main deterrent. If we had learned about All Orders earlier we would have started down this path much sooner.
"Life is Easier with NumberCruncher"
By francis@vegametals.comOf all the software solutions for manufacturing available, All Orders is the best and most cost effective. Two years ago, our company left QuickBooks Pro and implemented another accounting software in order to track our manufacturing raw materials. Our accountant suggested a software package from Georgia the Peach state. We lost all kinds of time and money trying to learn the new software and still after using it for an entire year, did not feel very comfortable with it. We also found that we had to buy a tech support package to resolve problems which the software package had. Not only did we waste our time converting, but the package did not give us the great, easy to access reports that we relied on with QuickBooks Pro. In order to switch back to QuickBooks Pro, we needed All Orders to track our raw materials in QuickBooks. All Orders not only tracks raw material inventory, it tracks sales orders, purchase orders, inventory, and bill of materials, work orders and ship docs. It does all of this and in perfect harmony with QuickBooks Pro. I’d like to also mention that All Orders tech support is the best I have had in the 15 years of running computers with my company. All Orders is also the easiest software that I have had to learn and everyone in our office who uses it has nothing but praise for it. Last month we had the opportunity to try a new product from Number Cruncher call Pocket Inventory. This new product allows us to use a pocket pc with Pocket Inventory on it to ship orders, update inventory, receive PO’s and transfer inventory. It also has the ability to use a hand scanner for bar coding. It’s so easy once you enter the data on your pocket pc. Simply put it in your cradle and sync it with your desktop computer. All the data goes into All Orders which syncs it into QuickBooks. My life is getting easier every day, thanks to NumberCruncher.
"Highly Recommended for Inventory Intensive Operations"
By SteveWe are a medium size manufacturing-parts assembly operation in which we utilize a large amount of purchase parts from overseas vendors. Consequently our lead times are very long, sometimes three months on parts delivery from date of order. Inventory control is crucial to our operation as the shortage of one part can shut us down for months. Number Cruncher has performed beyond expectations with easy to use work order menus and critical item reports. MRP is a snap. We haven't even begun to utilize its power. Customer service response is excellent and NC will always call back promptly. If you are an inventory intensive manufacturing or assembly operation we highly recommend this product.
"Extremely Helpful in Our Manufacturing Business”"
By jn@zipgs.comWe have looked for several months for an affordable and accurate system for tracking inbound and outbound serial numbers. We deal with thousands of mobile phone serial numbers daily and have not found anything that performs as quickly or is as flexible [as All Orders] when it comes to entering and researching the history of a serial number. This is critical in our business to know where and the full history of a phone and this system makes it extremely fast. It also provides for very integrated control of what our personnel can access by both function and screen level access
"The Best Addition for QuickBooks"
By felix@aaaexoticwood.comWe manufacture wood dash trims and kits. We needed to keep track of orders as well as manufacturing processes and components. Our bills of materials are always changing and we needed to see costs as we built our items. In All Orders, you can add service items to the component list representing processes. We can then set the status to 'Complete' to indicate that part of the job was finished. The work order is great because you can build as many items as you want at the same time. Finally, we needed an RMA system and All Orders has that as well. We think All Orders is an excellent value and we highly recommend it.
By Kim WNumberCruncher makes manufacturing with QuickBooks so much easier. The user interface is so easy to use, it looks just like QuickBooks. The unlimited items on the Bill of materials allows us to account for every component. It interfaces so seamlessly with QuickBooks, automatically syncing purchase orders and item inventory. One neat feature it offers is the ability to pull up a window that allows you to see what components need to be ordered to complete the work orders entered in the system. From this screen you can create a batch purchase order to create all of the PO's for multiple vendors, with just the click of a button. All of this is then synchronized with QuickBooks! The support offered with this product is excellent. The NumberCruncher staff was very prompt in answering questions both by email and by phone. As a member of an Accounting firm's IT Staff, I have tried many other manufacturing add-on applications and workarounds. This is by far the best product I've found. And have already recommended it to several of our clients. I would definitely recommend this product!
By aleung@lewinco.comI used NumberCruncher for 6 months; I worked fewer hours than before. It can help me to control the inventory in all details, such as each location and material used. Now, I can concentrate on my sales more than the inventory. I can talk to my clients more often than 6 months ago. And I can play more golf. And the technical support always works with you. This is the best part of the software.
"A Great Addition for Our Company"
By Geron MeeksOur company manages custom orders and distribution, both direct and through our warehouses, for hundreds of vendors and customers to thousands of locations. NumberCruncher is the perfect solution for what QuickBooks could not provide. We attempted a switch to Great Plains a few years ago, which proved to be too inflexible for our business. QuickBooks Enterprise handles our financial needs well enough and there is too much history to abandon. NumberCruncher has been a smooth transition for our users used to using QuickBooks. Now, we can finally accurately track inventory, manage multiple ship-to's, multiple units of measure and multiple inventory locations, track customer-owned inventory, and FINALLY have integrated reports from all those data locations. NumberCruncher has provided the missing piece for us. We now have all of our data stored in SQL Server, from NumberCruncher, QuickBooks (through another 3rd party app) and our warehousing system where we are now creating some great reports not possible before. Our reliance on spreadsheets is dropping quickly. Lena and NumberCruncher have already responded to custom requests that have been very helpful and I am comforted that the company appears very committed to updating/upgrading their product on their own as well. That commitment adds much needed flexibility, essentially like having an IT group for our order and inventory system. Highly recommended now with even higher expectations in the near future.
"Unbelievable… All-Inclusive Manufacturing Management Program"
By titusinc@titusinc.comWe are a small manufacturing company. We looked at $12,000-20,000 Manufacturing Management systems, but they were just too much. You bought the "basic" program, and then bought the “specific” modules to make the things work for you. NumberCruncher was a God send. We have control of the entire process now, and at a price so low that I don't see how they are making any money!! If you want an all-inclusive Manufacturing Management program, look no further. You would be crazy not to consider this software. I know I sound like I am raving about this software, and maybe I am...it's that good!
By John CNew to the MRP process, I needed to find an easy-to-use package that solved the basic resource planning questions, but also integrated with QuickBooks Inventory. One of the outstanding features of NumberCruncher is its complete integration with QuickBooks. And since NumberCruncher looks and acts like QuickBooks, there is a very low learning curve. Adding the Bill of materials was quick and the reports were immediately useful. After 6 months of use, I'm still quite happy, especially since they've now added Lot tracking! And support has been great too -- comprehensive answers to all questions.
"A Low Cost, Easy to Operate System"
By GreatcoversAllows us as a manufacturer to order and to stock, keep visibility of work in progress and track its progress. Good finish and raw material inventory control. Good for simple bill of materials to multiple levels which are quick to create. With the printed work order we can track sub-contracting work and sub assemble situations. The interaction with QuickBooks works well and provides a low cost, easy to operate system for customer service. Looking forward to the RMA portion of the system. Overall good performance.
