All Orders Feature Requests

Rather than opening the sales order list view, I would like Ctrl-S to save the current item (as it does in any other Windows program). This would be much more useful than opening the sales order tab (which I only do once per session). Right now I need to find and click the save button, then click the cancel button to close the tab (or use the save drop-down to choose save & close but that takes longer than save and cancel).

I would like the ability to export lists in the same format as your import templates. It would be useful to be able to export data in the same fashion as you import it to give additional functionality with stock office programs like Excel.

We'd like for the QuickBooks Synchronization to occur in the background. Currently the sync interrupts whatever task is being done on the PC at that time.

Customer Part Number is not currently an option that can be selected in Select Columns under the Item List screen. This would be a useful addition to add to the Item List especially if you have a lot of Customer Part Numbers associated with items in your inventory. This seems to be the only option that is not currently listed under the Select Columns screen.

I would like to see the option to use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-W to close any tab. This would function the same as pressing the "Cancel" or "Close" buttons (depending on the tab currently open).

We from time to time have to prepay for inventory items that are not received but there is no way to send a bill to quick books so show the debt on items not received yet, it would be nice for Number Cruncher to add this ability to the software.

We would like an option to setup auto-sync based on time of day, as opposed to number of minutes. An option for both in preferences would be useful.

Provide the same Calculated Field capability available to reports as a Custom Field Type. This would allow Power Users the ability to write SQL expressions to dynamically embed information into various Custom Fields. You'd probably want to add a User's Forum to your website as well so users can give each other advice and share custom SQL expressions they've written. This would be a HUGE extension in All Orders functionality.

We would like to be able to easily reorder the steps in a work order without having to re-enter every line. So if all of the steps are out of order being able to drag the steps into a new order.

I would like to control BOM status using component from and to effectivity dates. Benefits: phase in phase out visibility improves inventory use up - less scrap generated from normal engineering churn. Maintains BOM as a living document with component history. Improves forecasting accuracy when reviewing future demand.

For many of our raw materials Part Numbers, there are multiple Manufacturers with their associated Manufacturer Part Number that are equivalent. Also, a given Vendor can supply these. AO does not support either feature. You can only have a vendor listed once in the list of preferred vendors.

Certainly it has been of great help to include the facility of Sorting the items by Bin in SO and SD, however it woudl very helpul to have those values as a column in the respective SO and SD screen.

In preference we could set how many days forward to schedule in stock items to ship. If our shipping queue is 3 days, we could set that and all new sales orders would auto suggest the due date for 3 days into the future (ideally business days). If this could also add it make lead time. Say all of the items had a make lead time of 5 days and our shipping queue is 3 days, the sales order would automatically suggest to put that order out 8 days.

we would like to be able to use the email button to email several different email addresses. for example a sales related doc should be the general email and an invoice or accounting doc should be the billing email address

What I would really like is that when drilling down a work order if All Orders would take into account existing sub-assemblies when I tell it to. Then I would not have to delete work orders leaving gaps in the system record.

I would like to be able to have some selection options when using the Recalculate Reorder Points Function. Right now it is across the board for all items. I would like to be able to select what is changed, filtering by vendor, and possibly other options.

Often times, we create a work order for a batch quantity (say 100 pcs), but need to release smaller batches as the product gets built. The need to "split" work orders is rather obtuse because a new work order is created for the new amount. While this is annoying, we can work around it, HOWEVER, the newly created workorder is in no way linked to the old one. There should be some way to link work orders together. Additionally, any POs associated with the original work order are not copied to the new one, so there is a problem with data flow.
